What to expect

The Miniature Parks in Niedzica are two open-air displays of 1:20 scale models, part of the Spiska Kraina family park right next to the “Dunajec” Castle. The first, “Orava, Spisz and Podhale”, gathers miniatures of the region’s landmark monuments: the “Dunajec” Castle in Niedzica, Lubovna, the Orava, Czorsztyn and Pieniny castles, the Red Monastery, the wooden church in Dębno and several highland manor houses. The models tell a shared Polish-Slovak story of this borderland where the Tatra foothills meet.

The second display, “In the Footsteps of Marian Apparitions”, is a miniature park of religious buildings: twenty Marian sanctuaries from Poland and around the world, among them Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe, Vailankanni and Gietrzwałd, brought together in a single garden. It is a compact, walkable curiosity rather than a formal museum, and the labelling is in Polish, so international visitors get the most from the visual side.

Visiting in practice

The park is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, weekends included. The operator announces no seasonal break: the Spiska Kraina website carries the same year-round opening hours with no closed period. Treat the prices below with care - the single-entry price list published on that same site is marked as valid from 1 June to 31 October 2021, so the rates may be out of date. Confirm them by phone or email before you travel. Admission to one miniature park costs 12 PLN; the reduced 10 PLN rate applies to organised groups of over 20. Both displays are also covered by the Spiska Kraina family day-pass (from 50 PLN), which adds the wider attractions - a rope park, inflatables, pontoon slides and a cinema - making the site a better fit for families with children than for a standalone culture trip. Getting there

Niedzica lies about 100 km south-east of Krakow, on Lake Czorsztyn near the Slovak border, so this is a half-day excursion rather than a quick city stop. The parks are at Widokowa 5, beside the “Dunajec” Castle. Driving is easiest: from Nowy Targ head toward Nowy Sącz and turn off through Dębno just before the lake; from Zakopane go via Szaflary, Krempachy and Frydman. Without a car, expect a local bus connection from Nowy Targ, so most visitors combine the miniatures with the castle and a boat trip on Lake Czorsztyn.
